Good shout Punt but I wouldn't have touched it.
B4 the game I had us down for a 2-1 win but didn't know what to expect with it being so early in the season.

I thought Liverpool did ok for the first 35 mins, they looked like they were kicking on from last year but at the same time I was thinking City need to get out of first gear.
They managed to do that and went in at the break undeservedly 1-0 up, once City woke up I didn't think the result was ever going to be in doubt, City have that strength in depth and that was shown when Dzeko went off and Aguero came on and scored straight away.
I'm pleased with the result because City although getting out of first gear never left second, and you felt there was still more to come.

Liverpool on the other hand are still work in progress which is understandable considering the changes made to the team over the summer, I just hope they start to settle in before the Champs league kicks in not taking into account you can ill afford any more Injurys.

It's not all doom and gloom though because Liverpool are still an excellent team and have brought some good players in, once that new back four settles in you will do a lot better, plus I saw enough of Coates pre season to see Liverpool's defence will only get better.
I also thought Markovic looked excellent pre season and in time will become a cracking player for Liverpool, he never got a chance on the ball tonight apart from the odd good flick here and there, but he looks very comfy on the ball when he is in possession and doesn't panic.
I don't know how that will fit in with Liverpools attack...attack....attack.. plan of action which they play under Rodgers but If they want to progress they need to learn how to hang onto the ball every now and again to take the pace out of the game, especially when in front to stop those 'Crystal Palace' moments.

I cant completely write Arsenal off just yet but it's really looking like a two horse race. Like you say, Liverpool were giving their best and City were barely out of first gear. We'll do ok this season but i'm guessing we are in a race for 4th with Spurs and Utd.

Fernando looks like a good signing, Slick, some good protection and strength in midfield there. Even though you won the league last season i still felt you were missing a Nigel de Jong.

Great win for Liverpool Punt and good start for Bellers, he could have had four goals in his debut if he had his shooting boots and head on.

I see United are filling their boots in the transfer market now that City have their hands tied with FFP, I bet they are pissing themselves over the rd, hopefully he who laughs last laffs the longest because they are starting to come out of the woodwork again in work and getting on my tits once more by spouting shite were going to win this and that, you'd think having gone through what they have they'd keep stum until they found a bit of form.

I wouldn't mind if they were spending millions on players for the positions they are lacking, they seem to be snapping up any big names they can to either make a statement or shut the fans up, and considering they are always mouthing off about City spending, they aren't doing too bad a job themselves although they'll keep kidding themselves otherwise.

It was an important win for sure Slick. Great to see young Moreno bolt down the wing and rifle one in and make up for his cock up against City

Is that right Falcao is going to cost them £346K per week? Fucking hell.

This fella was back at Melwood today, bearing gifts and saying some goodbyes.....

Man Ure's certainly opened their purse strings. Falcao will be a good signing for them mind and getting rid of Wellbeck is a must. Cannae believe Hernandez is away to Real Madrid though.

Aye that's some salary isn't it, no doubt they'll be blaming City for it lol. fcuking numpties.

Falcao is a great player but considering he hasn't played for 9 months or so due to a torn cruciate ligament, it's a hell of a gamble for that type of money, suppose that could explain the initial loan deal.

If anything United are starting to look very top heavy when most of their problems are in midfield and defence.

Man Utd could be the new Galacticos , remember Real Madrid , 100s of millions spent on star players and they couldn't win a arse kicking comp against Arthur Askey ...

That was planned though Wins and went tits up, United just camped out in the January sales overnight and grabbed what they could.
It may or may not work but considering they have spent the last 10 yrs slagging clubs off for doing the same thing, it's a bit of a come down.

So Delph finally signs for City,

Can't work this one out :thinking

I thought the boy did well staying with Villa last week because I can't see him being a regular, then after confirming his affections for the Villa faithful, he does a U-turn and signs up with City under the same t&c's

    Anybody care to explain?

I cant explain it but with Benteke also likely to go, surely Villa are doomed to the Championship now?

Well it couldn't last forever. Those of us who have been laying them for the last four seasons or so to go down were bound to face a loss of income at some stage. Fuck it, I'll go again just for old times' sake. They owe me nothing

You never know it might shape Villa, If Lambert was still in charge then probably maybe but I'm beginning to take a shine to Sherwood.
I've probably just given them the kiss of death but for the first time in 'Four season' I'm actually optimistic for them.

From what I remember Benteke missed most part of last season and only came into his own with a few games to go, if he moves on then hopefully it'll bring somebody else to the plate as it usually does, I can't see any of the present team doing that but if they spend the Benteke money wisely they could be better off, even bringing in Adeybayor for a song if need be, he'll do his usual stunt of having a cracking season and let Villa buy some time.

    Benteke gone now :frown

I should be beyond this but I feel crushed

We've made a good profit on him but we will need to reinvest it pronto with a good replacement.

I can't see how we can stay up without his goals

Its a great signing for Liverpool

I think Leicester will also be in trouble now Cambiasso has gone. he was the only one making them tick and without his skills and sublime passing I can see them struggling.

As for finding a good replacement Colbro, thats a big problem where strikers are concerned because there aren't that many about.

So Peller's get another two years on his contract, good, because that has been bothering me for a while.
I've been thinking were going to have a wank season as it looks like the writing was on the wall for Guardiola to arrive at the end of the season and that's all the media are going to talk which could effect the players.

Guardiola may well still turn up but the extension means thoughts will now be on the playing side of things rather than the circus that was about to unfold. wise move imo.

Cracking goal from De Bruyne, I've heard a few calling it a fluke but if he would have hit it any other way it would have missed so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Been a good international break so far for City, Aguero torn hamstring and Silva ankle ligament damage so far, when do Belgium play, so Kompany can make ita hatrick, or is he already ucked.

you really mean it's been a good International break for Utd.

Joking apart this break could have killed our season, it's about time they kicked them into touch and played them over the summer in June.
It not only stops the fcuking and farting about with the Prem but also gives us something to watch during the dull months waiting for the season to start again.

It'd be like a WC or Euro's every year.
