Thought I'd start this thread to try and get on Cavendish early as he's just won two more stages of the Tour De France taking him two stage wins behind Eddie Merckx's all time record and three to beat it which is entirely possible the way the tour is set out this year.

Looks like the bookies have beat me to it as I was expecting odds of at least over 25's in a Euro and Olympic year.

Outside chance of young personality of the year could be 12 yr old Skateboarder Sky Brown who has just been selected to represent Britain at the Olympics, Britains youngest ever Olympian and currently ranked third in the world, I expect her to receive plenty of media coverage when Olympics kick off.

The way she's been playing this week, I'd have thought Emma Raducanu's got to be one of the favourites.

Cavendish now level with Merckx on TDF stage wins.
Should he win the final stage on the Champs Elysee which is the most important stage in the cycling sprinting calendar, then he must be in with an excellent chance of SPOTY.

If he does achieve it then he thoroughly deserves it.

Just checked the odds and he's now in at favourite @ 9/4

Too short now imo with Sundays stage to come and the Olympics on top of that.

Wish I'd taken the 11's when I originally posted that I thought were to short at the time.

After the last 2 weeks, I think you can forget young personality of the year, she's now odds-on favourite for the main award.

Can't disagree with that RC.
By the way Cav never got that final stage TDF win to take the overall record lol.

No surprise she's odds on, she's been brilliant.
Only challenger I can see is Tyson Fury should he beat Wilder at the weekend but he's not exactly the media darling like Emma who would endear himself to the BBC.

I've just realised Fury took himself out of the betting.
Emma will be nailed on.
