The purpose of this thread is to promote antepost betting(mostly on football).

Thats a n t e p o s t b e t t i n g NOT h o t s p u r

Antepost betting is without doubt the best way to make money from betting on football.

The advantages are:

1) A minimal amount of work is required to make a profit.The main reason for this is that stats play absolutely no part in antepost betting(some people might say that that in itself makes it the best way to bet:)!)

2) Antepost betting provides the greatest amount of entertainment for your money.
Say,tomorrow, you bet £100 on Man Utd to win the premiership-then for the rest of the season you have an interest in all of Utd,Chelsea and City's games, for about £1 a game!

3) When you start to win money from the bookies you dont get banned!
(except from shybet,natch)

4) You never chase losses and it is an utterly non-addictive way to gamble.

5) You have plenty of time to think about your bets i e if a team is 6-1 on monday its usually 6-1 on friday night.

6) Antepost betting on football provides the ONLY REALISTIC way for an ordinary person to win a life-changing sum of money.

7) Whereas accumulator bets on most markets are nearly always bad bets,this is not the case with antepost markets!!:eek

NB before I proceed I would like to ask a favour.I know that there are some very clued up people on here who will want to question no.7.By all means post your doubts but I ask you not to expect me to explain until the end of the season?
Also,there are,in fact,two other main advantages to antepost betting one of which would take too long to explain and the other I wish to keep to myself for the time being.
 
Now,of course, the most important thing is how do you make money from antepost betting!?

To answer this question I need to break it down into 3 parts:

a) how can you make10% from antepost betting?
b) how can you make 35% from antepost betting?
c) whats the best way to use antepost betting to try to win a life-changing sum?

As far as b is concerned I am,as the title suggests,going to show you how to do it by posting bets on this thread which should make a profit of around 35% and,indeed,although ideally I would start posting bets in the new year I will be posting the very first bet later today.

I will deal with c at the end of the season once I have made the 35%.

Which leaves a)...........how can you make 10% profit from antepost betting?

Now, I managed to annoy people by stating in another thread that I can make 10% profit "in my sleep" and I sincerely apologise for that.
Since I dont wish to say anything else that may cause offence it seems to me that the best way to answer the question is simply by quoting ALL of the pre-season antepost advice that I gave on another forum from which most of the members of this forum came.
I dont think there can be ANY DOUBT that anyone who followed my advice would be well on the way to making a 10% r.o.i

In fact,forget that,anyone who followed my advice would be virtually guaranteed a 10% r.o.i ALREADY!

Indeed,I have to admit that when a moderator on this site suggested that "its time to put up or shut up"I wondered whether or not they were fully aquainted with all my tips on the other site?

I dont wish to know the answer to that question but I do think that any new member of this site should be made aware of those posts so that they know that they can,if they wish,bet on any tips I give on this site with confidence.

I'm looking forward to this discussion. Over the last couple of seasons my anteposts have turned a profit while my other bets have at best broken even. My tactic is to bet small to begin with as the prices are longer, and to get bigger as the field sorts itself out. As hotspur says, part way through the season sems to be better than early on.

Although I can't claim any life-changing amounts, a massive rate of return, or a paticularly clever strategy, I can see where hotspur is coming from.
 
I'm in agreement with hotspur with statement a) the 10% target - back and lay the favourite but looking forward how to achieve c

In order to make 35% trebles are the order of the day but this bet is a single.

I wanted to give this particular bet because it is so clearly value and therefore illustrates that I am able to do this NOT because of any skill,cleverness or whatever else but because other people DONT........

It can be difficult if you want it , e.g.£37.96 = 1 point or you could try something simpler like this

Sorry, I prefer using points , makes it easier for others who have a different size bank to me.

11/8 is a GREAT price for city to win the prem. I was discussing with a friend what the price would be as I had been thinking about it all week,and I told him that if I get 5-4 I will lump on...of course the market is assuming chelsea win v QPR...
 
not yet,I have until saturday. As you may have gathered I do multiples...so I am going through all my bets so far to see what other teams to bet on with City.
From before the start of the season I lumped on to City in the market without Man U and Chelsea(at 6-4).
I actually started betting on City to win the prem.last week when it was likely(due to them being at home to villa and Utd playing at Lpool),that they would go top but ALSO in case they won yesterday.
I actually have a very good position on Man Utd which I will need to hedge.
I also need to decide whether to bet,for example,Huddersfield to be promoted OR to win the league.
In all likelyhood I will bet something like:
City to win the prem,soton to be promtd,huddersfield to be promtd,crawley to win lge 2,Cowdenbeath to win Scot div2(as I am hedging Arbroath)and they are probably the best team anyway.
Of course,as I indicated above,I DO realise that doing accumulators will cause some of you(or even all of you!) to think I am foolish.
I am ATTEMPTING to win a particular amount of money and accas are the only way to achieve that....

I may well fail:eek:
