2.25 York - Song Of The Clyde EW 8/1 & Wojtek (small) EW 40/1
Clive Cox has won the last two runnings of this race , along with a third in 2021 and saddles two in this years renewal .. Song Of The Clyde and Wojtek , Song Of The Clyde is the more fancied if the pair , won penultimate race at Chester opening his account and followed that up with a decent enough second last time out at Newbury in a class 4 Novice Stakes , only the three races to date and plenty of room for improvement. Wojtek too has had only the three runs , solid debut when second at Salisbury but disappointed when only managing sixth next time out over the same CD , was gelded and last then last time was 5th of 10 , definatley room for improvement and though i fancy the trainers other runner more i wouldnt discount his chances totally.
Song Of The Clyde has won and placed at the distance and is partnered by Rossa Ryan for the first time , 13% SR over the last couple of weeks and has a 12% SR when teaming up with the trainer in the last three weeks. Has a 14% strike rate when coming here to ride along with a profit of +£13.91.
Jim Crowley gets the leg up on Wojtek , also for the first time , has a 14% strike rate in the last three weeks and seems to ride York well with a 20% strike rate this season and a SR of 15.2% overall.
Trainer is in solid form with figures of - 1,5,1,3,2,1,1 since the 16th August , in the last 14 days hes had five wins and eight places from 24 runners giving him a 20.83% strike rate along with a healthy profit of +£27.60 and he sends just these two out today.

7.45 Newcastle - Bright EW 15/2
DM Lougnane has his stable in solid order with two wins and a second from his last three runners , he sends just one out today Bright in the 7.45 at Newcastle in the Racing League. Horse won this race last year , and looks to be coming into form with a sound second at Haydock last time out. Seems to run well here with a record of two wins and a place from his five outings , and one from one over this CD. Finley Marsh in the plate and he has two wins and a place from his five rides on the horse , hasnt had a winner for a while but rides Newcastle well with a 38.5% strike rate over the last five years and a profit of +£24.50 , also caught my eye that he sits 7th in the jockeys table in the Racing League on 109 points.

6.45 Newcastle - Bragbor 7/2
Also in the racing league i noticed that Richard Kingscote is leading the jockeys table and he goes there for just the one ride , Bragbor in the 6.45 , horse has plenty of scope for improvement only having had two runs - 1,2 .. both coming here at Newcastle .. steps up in trip today but should cope with that and the jockey gets the leg up for the first time , shouldnt be far away i feel

7.15 Oliver Show EW 9/1
8.15 Unassuming EW 7/1

George Boughey has been amongst the winners and placers lately with a 28% strike rate in the last fortnight , since the 16th August his figures read - 3,2,1,5,1,1,4,1,4 and he sends two up to Newcastle from his Suffolk stable tonight. When running his horses on the all weather in the last couple of weeks hes had four winners and a place from eight runners giving him a handsome profit of +£18.00.
Oliver Show could only manage 18th of 27 lto in a class 2 at Ascot , but he was coming back from wind surgery after a break of 82 days , after another break (63 days) i think we'll see a better effort tonight , was in decent form before he had wind surgery with a second in a listed race in Bahrain and then a close up second (beaten a nose) in a class 2 at Doncaster .. returning to a course and distance where hes one from one at , and with first time blinkers applied i think he can go close here. Cieren Fallon gets the leg up for the first time.
Unassuming looks to hold a decent chance , since returning from a break hes won two of his three races , the last one beating Jimmy Speaking by a neck despite not getting a clear run , good effort that i think and if in the same sort of mood she should be there or thereabouts. First run at Newcastle but has run well on the artificial surfaces before , two wins and a place from her four runs on tapeta to date , and she has 4 wins and a place from her 8 runs over the distance. Think she can get involved come the business end of things. Cieren Fallon takes the ride for the first time.
Cieren Fallon rides both and hes been riding well with a 21.9% strike rate over the last month along with a tidy profit of +£44.21 to boot. Has a 16.7% strike rate when riding here this term
