5.20 York - Fearnot EW 13/2 & 3.35 York - Kerdos (Small) EW 40/1
Clive Cox has done us a couple of favours recently , and he sends two to York today. Has his string in fine fettle at the moment with figures of - 1,5,1,3,2,1,1,16,1 since the 16th August .. in the last fortnight he has sent out 26 runners with six of those winning and a further eight placing , giving him a 23.08% strike rate alongside a profit of +£34.10.
Fearnot looks to hold a decent chance in his race despite the burden of topweight , yet to be out of the placings in his six races so far - 1,2,3,1,3,1 .. 5lb rise for half length lto win at Ascot in a class 2 handicap beating Bullet Point whose franked the form by winning at York yesterday , winning the Clipper by a length. Has won and placed in his two class 2 runs to date , going and distance shouldnt be an issue. David Probert in the hot seat , and he has ridden the horse in four of his six races , winning twice and placing twice. When riding for the trainer in the last three weeks they have a 14% strike rate , and jockey seems to ride York well with a 12.5% strike rate over the last five years and a healthy profit of +£20.20. Should run his race and looks to hold a solid chance i think.
Kerdos has been a bit hit and miss this season tbh , but was a solid fifth of twenty in the Group 1 King Charles 3rd Stakes , only beaten 2 lengths .. and if he can replicate that sort of form here he would have to have a serious chance imo. Has run here twice , once over CD , but failed to trouble the judges on either occasion. Has won in the class and at the distance , Rossa Ryan in the saddle , two places from seven rides to date , riding well at the moment with a 14% strike rate in the last couple of weeks , and when teaming up with Clive Cox over the last three weeks they come away with a respectable 22% strike rate. Big price but given the trainer and jockeys form i think hes worth a small each way to nothing.

5.20 York - Big Leader EW 7/1
Well have to stick with the inform trainer G Oldroyd , since the 26/7 his figures read - 5,1,1,1,1,4,1,3 , in the past month he has a 55.6% strike rate and a profit of +£26.50 and the fact that he sends just this one out today caught my eye given his recent form.
Horse has won all three starts to date showing a fighting spirit in his last race to win by a neck , that and the fact that hes open to further improvement makes me think that he can go close here. First run here but is three from three over the distance , has won on the ground and won his sole try in a class 2.
PJ McDonald takes the ride and he has ridden the horse on all three starts to date , has a 19% strike rate in the last three weeks and when teaming up with the trainer over the same period they come away with a 75% strike rate.

11.55 Fairview - HAT MONTERA at 2's

12.30 Fairview - NIGHT IN JAPAN and AMANATTO at 10's and 12's respectively.

2.50 Fairview - ROTOTO at 16's

3.25 Fairview - GOLDEN PAVILION at 6's

Given that Willie Haggas is in such good form at the moment i think it may well be worth covering his two runners at York today

4.10 York - Wonder Star EW 9/2 & 5.20 York - Sea Force EW 17/2

In the last fortnight he has had 33 runners resulting in 12 winners and 5 placers resulting in a 36.36% strike rate along with a profit of +£10.10 .. He sends seven out today but only two of those head to York .. Has a 26% strike rate when sending his runners here this season and i think given the stats you cant ignore any of his runners at York.
Tom Marquand is on both runners , been riding well lately with a 26% SR in the past fortnight , does well when riding here at York with a 21.4% strike rate and a profit of +£7.88
Wonder Star - Was a decent enough second on her handicap debut lto at Goodwood , only had the four runs to date so plenty of room for improvement i think , has won and placed at the distance and on the going. Doesnt look badly drawn. Should be able to make her presence felt.
Sea Force - Willie Haggas took this race last year and was fourth in it the previous two years , horse has been very consistent - 4,2,2,1,3,4, in his six runs to date , going and distance shouldnt be a problem , with natural progression should be there or thereabouts.
