Some good bets here at first glance. Blackpool definitely, cardiff & Birmingham spring to mind

I agree with Blackpool swoops, but it's Doncaster winning their last three Championship home games that makes me shy away from Cardiff.

Couple of BTSs: Watford vs Reading, Middlesborough vs Burnley & Hull vs Peterborough.

The next one... do I plump for Derby against their local rivals Coventry? Last year it was an easy no! This year however, there's a much larger gulf and with Derby at home, 1.90+ still looks ok.

Local rivals Gav? I suppose there's not much distance between them as the crow flies so you're right strictly speaking but I wouldn't want anyone to be fooled into thinking that this is a local derby with all that entails. It will be described as a "midlands derby" in the match updates on Saturday but these two teams don't give a fuck about each other and, as far as I know, haven't even got much history to even hold a bit of a grudge.

Derby v Forest or Leicester, yes. Coventry v Leicester, yes. Derby v Coventry, nope.

Coventry have had a rough time of it lately whereas Derby have been ticking along quite nicely so I can see the appeal but I wouldn't back Derby at odds on against anyone. Best price 20/21 on vcbet so if you're thinking of backing them and you have a VC account it may be worth waiting till Saturday morning for the possible even money.

Will probably wait to be honest, and yes, Victor is still a friend of mine.

Derby/Cov is always bigged up around the midlands ODM. They can't stand each other. Not sure where it comes from, perhaps who's the poshest? Nevertheless, it is a spicy one for the fans.

I'd have loved the Palace Leeds game to have been a week later, just before Palace's return leg in the Carling Cup to detract their attention a bit. That price would have been a decent stake draw no bet for me without a doubt. As it is, I might risk DNB for small stakes at 11/10 paddy power

I don't know where you live mate but I live near Derby and I can assure you that this is just another game in Derby's eyes.

Walsall, but worked in Coventry some time ago. It's just a game that gets mentioned with more passion than most. But I agree, technically, it shouldn't be a derby.

It must be more significant to Cov than Derby then. Probably due to the fact that they've found it hard to find a consistent local rival since they dropped out of the Prem, wheras them and Derby seem to spend a lot of time in the same league. I'd have thought they must have half a dozen teams that they see as bigger local rivals than Derby.

Reason I'm thinking against Donny is because I believe they are not the same side without Billy Sharp

Leicester at home for me. Great head to head at home to Burnley. Good win.

Fancy Hull at home to Peterborough. Decent at home and will be driven on by Barmby getting the managers job full time.

Birmingham for me. Millwall are beginning to struggle and although Birmingham are grinding out results im happy to back them

Both teams to score has got to be a good bet at 4/5.
