Atletico Madrid, what to do?

Hadn't actually seen anything of last night's games other than the results this morning, but just read now that Valdes got injured last night, and is out for 6 to 8 weeks. That means Pinto in goal for Barça for the rest of the season, which I reckon gives you hope yet, Punter

Cheers RC, yes i did hear that. Pinto shite then?

I'm still not that hopeful and I just need the end of the season now.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's shite, but doesn't really inspire confidence these days, you always feel like the next mistake's just around the corner. Take Tuesday's game for example:

38 now as well, I know keepers can still play to a decent level at that age, but he's been in decline for a while now in my opinion. Definitely a big step down from Valdes, and given that Barcelona's defence is their weak point, that just weakens it further still.

It wont let me play the vid but that's a positive for me then

:crossfingers

Looking good Punter (Atletico, not you, not got a hidden camera in your wardrobe or anything like that) :)

:) Yes, brilliant result, i've just layed a chunk off and here's where i'm at, at present..

I do have a feeling it has cost me the league bet now though, and there's every chance they wont win the CL :cold

There's no hidden camera in my wardrobe! I checked this morning when i went to Narnia.

I know, I've just been watching the stream :eek Don't tell him though, FFS.

There's also every chance they'll do the double. Have some faith man.

Any idea what happens if Atletico draw Chelsea in the semis? Is Courtois allowed to play against Chelsea, or is there what the Spanish call the "shitting yourself clause"?

Fuck, i didn't think about Courtois situation? It's normally just a Prem thing but there could well be a clause in there. Who's Atleti's reserve keeper? Dont tell me Peter Bonetti ffs

He is world class, but i dont like the idea of him playing should they meet :unsure

He played against them in the 2012 Super Cup final (Atletico won 4-1) if that helps.

Yes, i'm just not comfortable with it this time, lol.

I'm of the opinion though that being drawn against Chelsea would be their best chance of reaching the final, Bayern next. I hope they avoid Real, i think :unsure

Ahh, who knows and what will be, will be.

You're OK, just Googled it, came up with this, apparently he's OK to play:

That'll teach me for trusting the Daily Mail, fucking useless shite rag.

Had to Google who Atletico's sub keeper is, it's Aranzubia. Not featured much for them this season, although did play against Porto earlier this season in the Champions League and kept a clean sheet, and very experienced.

Decent enough keeper in the past, can't really tell you whether he's any good now though.

Cheers RC, the whole situation doesn't fill me with confidence. I'm left now thinking that the best for AM now would be Bayern, in Friday mornings draw, and hope that RM knock Chelsea out.

RC, please tell us what the Spanish is for "shitting yourself clause" - along with a phonetic pronunciation

I want to use it in everyday conversation

Thanks:thumb

It's a "clausula del cagazo", pronounced clow-soo-la (the "ow" like in "cow") del ca-ga-tho (the "th" like in "think" rather than "though")

Hope this helps in your next football-related conversation in Spanish :thumb

I asked the [sporting director Pedja] Mijatovic why and he said that if I played well against them, they [the fans] would kill all the directors."

LOL

Looks like the quotation marks and smilies aren't working for me tonight.
