C&P'ed from last seasons forum...................

Right back again season starts next week from the first league games of the season! It's the same rules as last year which are

- Pick 5 teams per weekend to go into a 5-fold
-PRICES ARE FROM BET365IF SHOWN. IF YOUR SELECTION IS IN A LEAGUE NOT PASTED INTO THE WEEKLY THREAD, STILL USE BET365 AND WRITE THE ODDS AND SOMEONE WILL CHECK IT WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE

- You do not have to place the bet if you do not wish to

1 Ayr v Stenhousemuir (Backing Ayr @ 1.68)
2 Crewe v Hartlepool (Backing Crewe @ 2.15)
3 Luton v Gateshead (Backing Luton @ 1.56)
4 Mansfield v Newport County (Backing Mansfield @ 1.65)
5 Leeds v Shrewsbury (Backing Leeds @ 1.66)

IF YOU FAIL TO POST BOTH THE HOME AND AWAY TEAMS AND (IF IT IS AN OBSCURE LEAGUE) THE COUNTRY AND LEAGUE NAME, IT MAY BE CLASSED AS VOID WHEN OUR ADJUDICATORS BECOME BORED OF SCOURING THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR THE RESULT

5-Folds
SelectionsOdds*StakePotential win

1,2,3,4 and 5 15.74 £5.00 £73.70

- Odds must be 1.50 and above and the max odds 6.00 no above and no less
- Picks are to be put onto the weekly thread and must be put up by 11pm Friday Night
- Any league can be chosen throughout Saturday and Sunday as long as it ends Sunday night
- Each week for every correct pick you will receive the points for the odds, so if above only Luton and Crewe won that would be 3.71 points for me for the week
- If you manage to get up a 5 fold though your points are doubled for the week!

We changed some of the rules after week one last year Slick because they were FUCKING STUPID. So, I've replaced some bits in bold in the above.

K m8, I was just about to post I'm sure I was using bet365 odds last term.

I'll have a good run through them and re-write anything that might need re-writing before the big kick off

"Pick 5 teams per weekend to go into a 5-fold" ----> "Pick 5 teams per weekend" - delete the reference to a 5-fold, it's not a 5-fold you're picking, it's 5 singles.

"You do not have to place the bet if you do not wish to" ----> Delete? I could kind of see the point of it when you were having to add all the bets to a coupon on Betfair to get the multiple odds, but there's no need to do that if we're using Bet365. Goes without saying that you don't have to place the bet.

"5-Folds

1,2,3,4 and 5 15.74 £5.00 £73.70" ------> Delete, that was a Betfair thing too.

- "Picks are to be put onto the weekly thread and must be put up by 11pm Friday Night" -------> Sure we ended up last year allowing picks posted up until some time Saturday, didn't we?

Yes, I think we started off at 12 noon but then that rule just got ignored. I'd suggest a 2pm cut off just to give me/someone a chance to check any odds that may not have already been posted. And I think we should enforce it strictly with no exceptions, otherwise there's no fucking point in having a rule at all (likewise the other rules).

As I say, I'll go through them and make a definitive set of rules at some point

The rules so far - shout up if there are any obvious errors or omissions

Pick 5 teams per weekend. Win bets only. Matches must kick off and end between midnight Friday night and midnight Sunday night (with the exception of international weekends when the period may be extended to take into account Friday/Monday games)

Points will be scored for each match as per the profit you would have made from a £1 single bet. 5 winning selections means that your total score is doubled

All odds must be taken from Bet365 and winners will be settled at the prices posted at the head of the weekly post, regardless of any price fluctuations.

Matches can be from any league, however, if the match not listed on the odds posted at the top of the weekly thread, you must stipulate which country and league the game is in and you must post the odds (taken from bet365).

If you fail to post both the home and away team, and your selection is not a top league game in England, Spain or Germany, you run the risk of your selection being classed as void when our adjudicators become bored of scouring the internet looking for the result. It may be obvious to you, but to avoid argument later, the onus is on you to take the extra 15 seconds to type the home team the away team and the relevant country and league.

Where a player mistakenly puts down two teams who are not playing each other that weekend, the selection will be void unless clarified before the cut off time, regardless of whether the odds appear to suggest that they intended to select a different game.

Cut off times - Please note that there has been a degree of leniency in previous years which will not be applied this year. The cut off time for selections is 2pm Saturday afternoon, UK time. The only time an exception will be made is if the site is down on a Saturday morning. Otherwise, selections will be void.

Any selection that you have made which is subsequently postponed can be replaced up to the 2pm cut off time. If you are not able to post a replacement selection before cut off time (or if your game is abandoned in-play) you will normally be allowed an extra selection the following week. In exceptional circumstances (where games are called off at short notice) replacement selections may be requested after the normal cut off time but the replacement selection will only stand if a mod then posts to confirm that the replacement has been accepted (this gives time for prices to be checked if required)

If your game is cancelled on the Saturday and you would like to choose a Sunday game, you can post in the weekly thread to request this but your replacement selection will only stand if a mod then posts to confirm that the replacement selection is accepted.

Prize money - yet to be announced

Looks fine for the most part. Couple of minor details (added to the quoted post in bold italics below)

Points will be scored for each match as per the profit [last year wasn't it the return including the stake, not just the profit - i.e. back a team at evens, you score 2pts if they win, not 1?] you would have made from a £1 single bet. 5 winning selections means that your total score is doubled

If you fail to post both the home and away team, and your selection is not a top league game in England, Spain or Germany [change to something along the lines of "major European league game"? The likes of France, Italy, Portugal, etc. are all well enough known too. Possibly even Scotland, at a push :wasnmeAlso, "top league" makes it sound like you mean just the highest division, whereas in England, anything down as far as probably the Conference is well enough known to us], you run the risk of your selection being classed as void when our adjudicators become bored of scouring the internet looking for the result. Mmmm, not sure RC. If it was, I'm not sure it's the best way anyway. It makes sense to me that someone who picks a 2/1 winner should be rewarded twice as much as a bloke who picks an evens winner and get 2 points to his 1, whereas the other way, he would be getting 3 points compared to the 2. See what I mean?

I've had a long busy complicated last 2 months I was coming back to start the competition again from next weekend but if people want to start it this weekend that's fine :thumb

Same rules as last year that worked probably easier than anything, theres a bumper prize win this year round as my winnings from last season have been put in, I'll put up the figures later. If were starting from today I'll have

Derby @ 1.57
Motherwell @ 1.85
Peterhead @ 1.66
Millwall-leeds draw @ 3.50
Newport @ 2.15

Hope all is well in betnod land

No problems mate, I don't mind either way, was just saying how it was last year.

So same rules as last year then everyone knows them I'll post screen shots on Wednesday of the main leagues like last year, international weekends you get to pick Friday games as well :thumb Cut off we changed it to 2pm on a Saturday as long as your game hadn't kicked off

These are the rules we're using and we need to make sure that everyone knows that if they don't stick to them their selections will be void. No point having a cut off time and then letting people just ignore it as they did last season. Have a look through these Yorkie and let me know if you have any probs with any of it

I know you were mate. Just doesn't sit right with me that a 3/1 winner is only worth twice as many points as an even money winner that way.

It favours the punters with no bottle who like to pick 4 odds-on shots every week.

You mean the light blue writing on the light blue background? I didn't even spot that for some reason.

I'm afraid you'll have to take up any complaints regarding colour schemes with the management.
