Yet another antepost multiples thread, but I thought I'd have a go at the winners in the Champions' League groups - two lots of four bets, and one before each of the six rounds of games. Using real money, but as this is a tentative test small stakes, to win £10. To start:

Groups A-D, Man Utd, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, 5.5/1, stake £1.55, Paddy
Groups E-H, Chelsea, Dortmund, Athletic Madrid, Barcelona, 8.85/1, stake £1.02, Paddy
 
Before the second round of games:

Groups A-D, Man Utd, Real Madrid, PSG, Man City, 6.88/1, stake £1.27, SkyBet
Groups E-H, Chelsea, Arsenal, Athletic Madrid, Barcelona, 7.53/1, stake £1.18, Bet365

Stakes one third of the way through £5.02 with the aim of winning £10 on each line (£20 in total)
 
Before the third round of games:

Groups A-D, Shakhtar, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, 4.49/1, stake £1.83, BetVic
Groups E-H, Schalke, Arsenal, Athletic Madrid, Barcelona, 4.96/1, stake £1.68, Bwin

Half way, £8.53 staked with the aim of winning 2 x £10.
 
Before Fourth round of games.

Groups A-D: I'm starting to hedge rather than do multiples. Hopefully Real and PSG are well set, but I'm prepared to hedge if they wobble or one of the chasing pack puts together a couple of results.

Group A&D, Shaktar/Man City double, Unibet, 99/1, 10p, returns £10
Group A Leverkusen single, 4/1, BetVic, £2.00, returns £10.

Groups A-D £6.75 staked to win £10.

Still thinking about Groups E-H. :thinking
 
Before Fourth Round of games, Group E-H:

Groups E&F Shalke/Dortmund double, 8/1, Paddy, £1.12, returns £10.01
Group F winner Napoli, 7/2, BetVic, £2.23, returns £10.04
Group H winner Milan, 12/1, BetVic, 77p, returns £10.01.

Summary, to win two lots of £10:

Groups A-D £6.75 staked
Groups E-H £8.00 staked
Total £14.75 staked.
 
A couple of hedges before the fifth round of games:

Group C winner Olympiakos, 16/1, Sky, 59p, returns £10.03
Group E winner Basle, 80/1, Bet365, 13p, returns £10.53

Summary, to win two lots of £10:

Groups A-D £7.34 staked
Groups E-H £8.13 staked
Total £15.47 staked

So, one acca out of two is confirmed. On groups A-D I spent £7.34 on six different bets and returned £10.08, for a profit of £2.74, or more importantly as this is a small-scale test, a yield of 37%. I think I've a guaranteed profit on groups E-H too, but I'll reserve judgement until tomorrow in case there's a freak combination I've missed.
 
Also 11 September:

Groups E-H, Chelsea, Dortmund, Athletic Madrid, Barcelona, 8.85/1, stake £1.02, Paddy

£8.13 spent to gain £10.05; 24% yield. The favourites won all eight groups.

Overall, £15.47 staked, £20.08 returned. That's a 30% yield overall. I suspect this isn't a big enough test to prove multiples are a success, but it seems very well worth continuing to experiment.

Do you know the individual odds each team were to win their leagues?

So far I've assumed evens which would mean you received a lower return had you just done singles and without the cover.

If so you would appear to have backed up the ideas hotspur was trying to outline before

No, I didn't keep a record of individual odds, although with hindsight I wish I had done. I think most - the Spanish clubs, PSG and Chelsea were significantly shorter than evens.

And yes, this was inspired by hotspur :zhail
