Odds William Hill

Southend look a decent punt at just short of 2/1. In a competition where sides tend to rotate Southend have some decent depth, paticularly up front. I don't know much about Dagenham's back up, but if this was a league game the price would look attractive. Southend seem to have fielded a decent side in the last round, while D&R look to have rotated marginally more.

Elsewhere team news will be a factor, but Wycombe and Gillingham should be reckoning to win their home games.

The following weekends fixtures might determine team selection for some of the sides.

Morecombe v Preston,Morecombe 3rd play Wimbledon 6th and Preston 3rd entertain Sheff Utd 6th.In their own leagues

Notts County's oppenents Chesterfield might chose to field a weakened side due to the fact they have a tough league fixture away to Sheff Weds at the weekend.

Crewe are another who will be at home to leaders Southend, although I wouldnt be totally confident in siding with Macclesfield.

Right now before any team news,Notts County at Evens @ bet365 looks the bet

Had three units on Southend DNB at 6/5 with SkyBet. It looks like I'm in a minority of one here and I disagree with most of the bookies, but I don't have D&R as favourites - I'm with those who make this bet shorter than evens. Only small stakes and covering the draw in case Southend throw in a strange team selection. Their message board seems to think they'll make changes but still be able to field a decent team of squad players.

I'd call the Southend result too TC, though i dont think i'll risk having a bet on anything here. I was tempted to play level stakes on Tranmere away at Accrington and Oxford away at Aldershot. Tranmere a league above Accrington (who didn't fare to well in their last home derby a couple of weeks ago to Crewe) but team news looks as though it probably favours the home and night games at the Crown ground i believe Stanley do quite well so i ruled it out in the end.

Oxford at Aldershot sprang to mind only for the reason of the forthcoming Utd game. I would imagine Aldershot really dont need this game right now, it must be low on their list of priorities. In the end it was still hard to back against the 'shots though as they've been one of the bright teams in league 2 this season.

7/4 @ V.C bet for each of the two aways i've mentioned, tempting but not quite a bet.

I also considered Preston @ 5/4, but this competition has always been a bugger to find out who want's it most, there's not much else UK football this week but i'm going to be strong and resist having a bet....unless somebody comes up with any strong info regarding team news.

Not sure the United game will affect Aldershot much, its the end of the month

I've permed Preston, Tranmere, Oxford, Southend and Sheff Utd.

Imo better teams all playing away. Plus i,m a mug for 5 aways and they all jumped out straight away.

Disappointed that Huddersfield are 1/3 at home v Bradford. Was actually hoping for about 4/7 or better but they are giving fdck all away. Will check befire kick off to see if better is away. If not might risk ht/ft

Agree Oxford look a good price - I didn't spot that one. Both sides struggle at home and do their best work away, which makes the Oxford price look generous. I'll wait for the teams though.

In the 7pm kick offs, Gillingham and Barnet are both fielding some squad players (so it seems by comparing the team sheets with SoccerBase's appearence stats). Assuming changes cancel themselves out, I've had a couple of units on Gillingham at 8/11.

I don't know L1 at all, but Huddersfield seem to be a long way off their strongest side. Bradford don't seem to have rotated so much, so I've had a small, speculative double chance with Hills' 23/10 on the grounds that it's probably value, if not a likely winner.

At 7.15, Exeter seem to be fielding a strong(ish) side. Swindon haven't particularly weakened, but given Swindon's away struggles this season (five defeats out of six) I've risked a small stake on Exeter DNB at 4/6.

In a 7.30, Wycombe are rotating, but Cheltenham seem to be fielding a very inexperienced defence - I think there's only one first choice defender, plus the reserve 'keeper - although he's no lemon. Taken 2/5 Wycombe DNB. Again, small stakes.

In the evening's big game, Aldershot field a more competative side than I was expecting; Oxford seem to be making more use of their squad players. Still chanced Oxford DNB as the odds are still not bad, I don't think, and Oxford have a decently sized squad.

In the other match several of us have an interest in, Dagenham and Southend both rotate, but I still think Southend are slightly stronger.

I've permed Preston, Tranmere, Oxford, Southend and Sheff Utd.

Imo better teams all playing away. Plus i,m a mug for 5 aways and they all jumped out straight away.

Blow the fucking whistles.........

FFS i should of had a bet.

Go On Kegs!
"Blow your whistle referee, blow your whistle referee"

Never had 5oo5 for ages.

Aldershot v Tranmere has been abandoned due to a serious injury......after 39mins

another one will lose a late goal to screw it

Shit whats happened at Accrington? -game abandoned due to serious injury..that usually only happens when there is a death doesnt it?

From the BBC
A serious injury to Tom Bender forced the abandonment of the Accrington Stanley and Tranmere Rovers cup tie in the Johnstone Paints Trophy.
The Accrington defender was treated on the pitch for 25 minutes before taking from the ground in an ambulance.
He went down after colliding with his Accrington's goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and Tranmere's Lucas Akin, according to the club's website.
The Welsh youth international is on a season-long loan deal from Colchester.
More to follow

Southend and sheff utd both just list goals

....

Accrington chief executive Rob Heys told BBC Sport: "It was a three-way collision between Tom, Ian Dunbavin and the Tranmere player.
"It's difficult at this time to say what the injury is but our club doctor and physio ran immediatly to his assistance.
"Both sets of players were shaken up by the incident hence why we took the decision to call the game off - it's only natural reaction when you see a player stay down for so long.
"He was starting to show signs of coming around as he left the ground."

I managed three from six and a unit's profit, but hearing the news from Accrington not celebrating :frown. :crossfingers for the lad.
