Cape Derby day over in South Africa, so starting over there -

11.15 Kenilworth - DEAR GREEN PLACE - Nicely bred newcomer and surprised by the early 66's o offer.

11.50 Kenilworth - ROYAL CHAIN - Has plenty of speed and drops in class today after a very nice effort. Really should not be far away at 4's.

12.25 Kenilworth - ROY'S WINTER PATCH - Capable sort and Pierre Strydom takes the ride. Definite form claims at 9's.

12.55 Kenilworth - STAR CHESTNUT - Going with this one in the Derby as does look a possible improver for the step up in trip. Top jockey booked and EW chance based on his best merit rating, so happy risking the 40's.

Pretty similar over here as well, with 2 at single figure prices and a couple of real " rags " -

1.50 Ascot - FAIRYTALE THEATRE - 4th in this last year, though not quite in the same form this time round. Still holds an EW squeak however and tough to ignore the 50's on offer.

2.20 Lingfield - TRENDING - Fair AW sort and well worth a crack at this longer trip.

3.30 Lingfield - JEAN'S LADY - Makes her debut on the flat at 7 and has at least won over hurdles. Probably gonna fair better in h'cap's, but could not resist the 66's.

4.10 Ascot - WHAT A MOMENT - Return to a galloping track can hopefully resume improvement.
