I'm going all Ante Post again this season, just like 2014...

http://betnod.com/threads/pay-in-may-2014.2313/

This time I'll be posting up my bets while talking shite about why i've backed them. Profit or Loss there will be returns come May 2016

My first Market....

PREMIER LEAGUE - W/O BIG 6

Updated odds here...
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/w-o-big-6

I think both Palace and Swansea are in for good seasons along with Stoke. All have made some good signings and can carry on from last season. Just to get the thread started i've taken the first two.

Premier League

11/07/15 Crystal Palace w/o the big six, £6 @ 16/1 - Bet Victor
11/07/15 Swansea w/o the big six, £2 @ 10/1 - Bet Victor

I’m going to tackle the Bundesliga with a few bets this season.

There’s a German lorry driver that calls into our place once or twice a month, his English is excellent and we have long chat’s about football. He’s a lifelong Hamburg fan but moved some years ago and is now living in walking distance of Hoffenheim’s ground, so he goes to watch them instead.

Worryingly he was in the yard the day Liverpool signed Firmino from Hoffenheim, he was laughing his head off.. “41 Million Euro’s, brilliant business for Hoffenheim”.

I’m like, “ is he no fucking good then?”

Apparently when the sun is shining he can win games on his own, but he’ll go missing on a cold, wet night at Stoke.

Anyway, back to his beloved Hamburg, they have seen glory days, a while ago now though, in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s they dominated German football. They have won 6 league titles and finished runners up on 8 occasions. Around the same period they also lifted the Cup winners Cup and The European Cup.

They have been in decline in recent seasons, the last two they have avoided relegation via the play offs (last season’s play off.. only a 91st minute equaliser kept them in the league) but they are still the only team to have remained in the top flight since the league was formed in 1963.

They remain a big club, with average attendances of over 53,000 they are the 4th best supported club in Germany and the 8th best in all of Europe.

I took to looking for a bet on them, I was looking for a price on a top half finish but there are no odds on offer so I’ve taken a chance on Sportingbet odds @ 66/1 for a top 4 finish. Admittedly this is a long shot but like I said, they remain a big club and have shown in the past that they do have good seasons, now and again.

Hamburg league finishing positions over the last 15 yrs…

2000 – 3rd

2001 – 13th

2002 - 11th

2003 – 4th

2004 – 8th

2005 – 8th

2006 – 3rd

2007 – 7th

2008 – 4th

2009 – 5th

2010 – 7th

2011 – 8th

2012 – 15th

2013 – 7th

2014 – 16th

2015 – 16th

So just a small bet for banters sake with my German lorry driver mate.

I’m also laying Bayern Munich to win the league, they have won it the last 3 yrs but I get the impression that things are not great there. Last season saw the long time club doctor and his staff leave the club, citing Pep G’s training methods causing too many injuries. Pep G also fell out with striker Muller during this time and things are still not resolved between the two. Add that to the fact that club legend Bastian Schweinsteiger has just been sold to Manchester Utd and the fans are up in arms. Even Karl Heinz Rummi’ got booed at the press conference.
On paper they should win it, but I’ll take a chance in hope that another team can come out of the pack and surprise them. Whoever it might be they would certainly have all the neutral support.

I’ve also a small punt on B. Munchengladbach, who have been making progress in recent seasons, finishing 8th, 6th and 3rd

Bundesliga

15/07/15 Hamburg Top 4 Finish, £8 @ 66/1 Sportingbet

I dont know if im just naturally racist kop but my advice would be not to listen to your 4 wheeled german friend as they have no idea of the integrity required in a UK based football bet If it loses and he says something more than 'non wunderbar' to you then well ok but..well...i dunno i think im really racist in my betting thoughts.

Could the english and the scots (and irish and welsh) be the only sensible bettors in the world? The yanks try and fail from the off as they dont see betting as anything bar a number. Mississippi Burning et all brought up on George Bush and to have no credability whatsoever.

the french are a bit c'est la vie about their bets imo and that again is not good.

Are the English, Scots, Irish and welsh the ONLY good bettors in the world today? It could be :8

You might be right Komp, though I'm probably just spunking last months overtime away here. Good luck this season mate :thumb

Glory Glory Man Utd.

I’m saying very little about these bets, other than I own a Delorean and I’ve been to the future. The only reason I’ve not had more on is because I had to lay out everything I own on a new Flux Capacitor just to get back here.

Wowo Wowo Wowo !!

What's all this United business?
A scouser investing in that pile of shite:duh, just wait until I see your mother.

Ha ha City the club that never stops providing entertainment, Delph taking the piss gets 180 grand a week, Sterling 49 million, scousers rolling over laughing.

Good bets them Punter, your a scouser who just wants to win some money, thinking with your head.

I see it's chucking out time again @ the asylum.

where did you read Delph is on £180k a week?

Say's the bloke who's team was paying peg leg Falcao over £300k a week, chuck in Di Maria and it's over half a million pound a week for the biggest crock of shite that ever graced the Prem:lol

:lol

I'd like it to of been Liverpool or City.. or even Chelsea but we're shit, you've just bought Sterling and i'm not sure what to make of Chelsea with Falcao just yet.

I can see Utd winning a couple of trophies, they've bought well and Van Gaal had them playing good football toward the end of last season.

Howson, i hope you win fuck all and that i've spunked my money away :) ...but at present i have you as favourites to win the league :(

6/1 Corals is a massive price imo.

What are the odds for Alienhead to be the first prem managerial casualty?

That's the only United bet I'd have.

Go on Slick get ur tenner on at 50s, pays for your booze supply for a week.

Utd are a great price Punt, if we get a proven goalscorer, rooneys nailed onto play as the number 9,but his best days are long gone.

This season will be much closer than last season, couldnt back city or chelsea at them prices, neither have bought anyone yet, who will improve the starting 11s

rooneys nailed onto play as the number 9,but his best days are long gone.

I believe he's about to have his best ever season. A good ratio of goals and assists. He'll be confident and buzzing again with the new signings and possibly the new baby too. If Utd win the league, Rooney will win Player of the year.

There's not many proven goal scorer's about Howson, not for sale anyhow but for once I agree with you.

I have a feeling this is going to be one hell of a tight year, I hope so anyhow.
Personally I think the team to beat will be Chelsea but then again how much longer can Terry go on, he had a blinder last year to prove a point, but can he do it again?
Everywhere else they look solid, the only other weakness I see would be in net's should Courtois get a knock now Cech has gone.

If Uniteds buys work out then I don't see much difference between them, City and Arsenal.

Either way, I'd say that's pretty much the top 4 sewn up once again.

Added another few quid on the Rooney bet, 16/1 Bet Victor. The little scouse bastard.

I’m convinced Bristol City will be a Premier League Club in the next couple of seasons. Bristol Sport are ploughing £45M in to building 2 new stands at Ashton gate, turning it into a 27,000 all seater football and rugby stadium. Steve Cotteril is a top manager and being from that part of the world is a perfect fit for City.
It may be a season too soon though so hence the small stake.

Me and RC fancy The Gills for a good season under Justin Edinburgh. I might add to the top half bet if 2/1 becomes available in the first 3 games.

Bradford also interest me, Over 18,000 season tickets sold so far. So do Luton in league two, they've made some good signings. Lets have a look at Luton in recent seasons…

I’ve gone for two Muslim singles and an AK47 double.

I'm much of the same thought as ThunderCelt in The National League.Tranmere, Grimsby and Forest Green are all in for a good season.

Just adding Feyenoord to win the league. Not just a sentimental bet because of Kuyt either, They've not won the league for 25yrs but it's about time the best supported club in the Netherlands shook the Eredivisie up. I'm confident i'll get my stake back at least.
