It's full steam ahead now with the World Cup less than two weeks away. Each team has a couple of friendlies then the group stages start with the new expanded format.
The expanded format does favour the bigger teams when it comes to bets like top goalscorer. The extra game shades it ever so slightly more towards the teams most likely to go deep and to the penalty takers. Still there is plenty of value to be found in some long shots. A larger contingent of pishy teams means some long shot attackers might net a lucky hat trick early doors. Then again Haaland has Iraq in the group stages and could score 16
I am not a particularly insightful sports bettor. The best sports gamblers are smart enough to be able to spot markets and games which are different than usual for whatever reason. I cant claim to have that level of ability. I am good at finding the best price and getting some edge that way though.
I quite like BRUNO FERNANDES player of the tournament @ 25/1 He is in literally record breaking form and I fancy Portugal to go deep this Summer. I took that price and as I write they have cut it to 20/1 available everywhere, meh
TO MAKE THE QUARTER FINALS is a market I found a lot of value in. France @ 1.80 is decent. Spain @ 1.73 also decent. Japan @ 5.5, Turkey @ 5.50 mid prices. For an extreme longshot Curacao @ 500/1 seems worth a quid to me (SKYBET).
Outright so far Ive taken Portugal @ 12/1 and some on Scotland @ 250/1 for the dream.
