I always think FIFA prefer it when the host nation does well in a World Cup. This time there are three host nations and I'd say the USA is the market that FIFA would love to have embracing football more, its just worth so much money. I've opened my group stage match betting with

MEXICO to beat South Africa @ 1.53 (normal bookies took it weeks ago)
USA to beat Paraguay @ 2.08 (exchanges)

Good luck Jezza. Both good shouts there i think. You'd expect the hosts to get off to good starts and like you say it would sit well with FIFA.

What I did with Canada was bet on them to qualify in a multiple. Short odds but I took it. Could come back to bite me that one I guess. I think they can beat Qatar at least.

The expanded tournament and new format is giving a lot of things to consider.

It's an 8 game tournament if you go to the semi finals. Some of the top contenders might already be qualified top by the time of the third game. Does that mean we could get a rotated France against Norway? or a 2nd choice Brazil against Scotland? I took some Norway to beat France in that game @ 5.0 this morning and see that price has already been cut although you can still get 4.8 on exchanges.

There's also the unfortunate possibilities of some lol games in the last round of group fixtures. I saw someone on social media putting this up as an example where Austria could go into their final group game knowing a win would see them face Spain wheres a loss would see them face Switzerland instead in the next round



Or in Spains group itself the 2nd place could get Argentina but the 3rd place someone easier....
